Akrotiri Apartments - Village

AKROTIRI APARTMENTS is located in Akrotiri village close to the excavations have brought to light one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece. Located in the southwestern part of the island is 15 km. from Fira, the capital. In Akrotiri during medieval era was one of the five castles of Santorini. The tourist flow has not changed the character of the village. The picturesque Akrotiri village is perfect for a peaceful stay but also easy to visit all popular areas of the island.

It is worth visiting the archaeological site of Akrotiri and admire the well-preserved prehistoric city. It is known as the Pompeii of Greece!! The settlement was inhabited in the Late Neolithic Age and flourished in the Early Bronze Age. Its area was over 200 acres. There were two or three floor houses decorated with amazing colorful frescoes resembling those of the Minoan palaces. The settlement had an excellent urban organization even a drainage system. During the excavations, many appliances were discovered inside the houses, revealing the highly organized society and living standards.

During your stay at our apartments you can swim at the Red Beach, about 1 km away from our hotel. The landscape looks unreal. Huge red rocks create a unique lunar landscape. Every summer thousands of tourists visit the Red beach, though a bit difficult to access. You can also reach the beach by a traditional boat which starts from Akrotiri beach. The Red beach is very well organized and has a worldwide reputation as it is a unique natural phenomenon. We also recommend you to visit the Lighthouse, about 5 km. far from the Akrotiri village. It was built in 1892 by the French Lighthouse Company. The tower is 10 m. tall and its focal width is 100 m. Although it is not open for the public, it is worth seeing and enjoy the beautiful sunset.

The lively streets with shops, cafes and crowded restaurants will remind you that you are in the most cosmopolitan island in Greece. In stunning Santorini!

Built on the highest point of the Caldera cliff at 300 m. is the picturesque Imerovigli with the best volcano view. Only 2 km far from Fira It is worth visiting to admire the traditional architecture and the breathtaking view. Oia is the beautiful traditional preserved settlement built around the caldera. A walk through the picturesque small streets will fill you with stunning images.

Santorini beaches are famous for their unique beauty. It is worth to explore them, swim in the clear water and relax enjoying the black sand. Walking through the coastline with the black pebbles and black sandy beaches, surrounded by wild cliffs is an unforgettable experience! Visit Perivolos, Kamari, Perissa, Monolithos, Vlychada beach and admire once again the uniqueness of Santorini.

Every day traditional boats sail for a cruise to the volcano. You can walk on the volcanic island and take photos overlooking the crater. Then you can swim in the hot springs with thermal waters and you will see amazing beaches and landscapes that can be seen only from the sea. Live this experience too!
